I have been reading books on being a vegetarians and there are MANY who have

been eating this way for years and are VERY healthy.

So why do so many health sites do they say that vegetarians lack in vitamin A

and B12? I just can't believe that's true or vegetarians would be a sickly lot!~

: ) I still have younger children at home and want to be sure they are fine.

If there is a concern, then what do you make sure you are eating to get those

vitamins

I'm not the least concerned about protein and calcium, I feel I have my answers

there

I wonder if it is because so many people that delve into it don't research it

and might not be eating a good variety so as to get a variety of all the

vitamins needed.

When I first became vegetarian years ago I just knew to eat vegetables. The

problem was I just ate the same vegetable all the time. I didn't even consider

trying " exotic/weird " (I thought) vegetables/products.. lol. I didn't get out of

my " comfort zone " and try new things. I was " afraid " to try all the wonderful

fruits and vegetables we now have from all over the world.

Fortunately for me, this time around, I have the benefit having opened my mind

and explored the vast array of wonderful stuff. I truly believe, education is

key, and we are always learning.

btw.....when it comes to vitamins....we have to be careful that we don't get

vitamins with gelatin capsules. Because the gelatin (unless specified) is

probably from animal sources.

hmmm, good point.

I just want to make sure that I am getting the 'vitamins' from the veg/fruit

than a pill. But I guess a varied amount will help

I just wondered if there is something lacking in veg/fruits that 'they' (whoever

they are) are worried about.

Why do they even THINK that vegetarians lack in B12 and A?
