Cherries are one of my MOST favorite fruits. I do wish they would grown down

here in east Texas. We can only get them for a month or so at the store. I

have

had a cherry pitter for years....hand held jobber but it works great. Oh,

here is

what I like to do with cherries......I pit them....then I put just a serving,

on a small

pan...and put that in the freezer...then leave it in the freezer for about an

hour

maybe....I have never timed it, I just go check them once in a while. Then

when

they are ALMOST frozen.....I get them out, pick them up one by one and savor

them.

Yum! I am 60 and have been doing this all of my life. I like to do the same

thing

with Thompson seedless grapes.

Funny story...

We went up to visit friends for Thanksgiving last year and they had a cherry

pitter. My brother became obsessed with it and sat at the table pitting

cherries. All he wanted for his birthday this year was a cherry pitter. We

finally found one at Williams- Sonoma and now we get fresh cherries more often!

(just make sure to aim the pitter away from other people!)

Peace,

Eliana
