Guest guest
Hi, Paul! Pizza toppings, all veggie...let's see.... I like artichoke hearts (they come in a tin or a glass jar, ready to use). Another is chopped olives, either black or green ones--you can go exotic and find othe kinds, too. Sliced green or red (or yellow or purple) bell peppers, onions (they are good when " carmelized " --cooked gently until they are sort of soft and very slightly brown--sweeter that way) --both are nice on pizza. ROASTED garlic cloves are good-- very savory and add a LOT of flavor. fresh basil leaves, spinach leaves..small pieces of eggplant or zucchini or yellow (small) summer squash might be good, too. (I would slightly brown the eggplant pieces in some lightly salted olive oil with a pinch of garlic and perhaps basil leaves and/or oregano or thyme added, then put the eggplant pieces on the top of the pizza. I have read that different toppings on pizza appeal to different regional tastes. In the midwestern U.S., where I live, there is a fondness for a " Mexican " flavor of pizza--shredded lettuce, salsa, cooked (refried) mashed beans, shredded cheese and (for non-veggies) seasoned meats. Some like pineapple chunks as a topping. You can try the vegetarian meat substitutes, too--sausage, " bacon " , and maybe even the " chicken " flavors would taste good to you...what you like you can experiment with! I hope you find many foods you enjoy eating on your pizzas. Go for the taste adventure of it! --Laura B., in Illinois (U.S.) Be a better friend, newshound, and know-it-all with Mobile. Try it now.
