Guest guest
Greetings Colleen, I feel a kind of kindred spirit with you as I too am in my 50's (54 next oct). I also have 3 kids ages 33, 35, and 36...lol. I just had a question after reading your post. I was wondering what is keeping you from making the leap into vegetarianism? I am always curious at both what makes a person a vegan/vegetarian and also what keeps one from it. About me, I was a vegan/vegetarian for about 10 years many years ago and then " fell off the wagon " for a few years. I am back to being a vegan/vegetarian again since January and I (once again) am starting to feel good again. jeannie jeannieh99 Colleen <irish72eyes wrote: Hello. I am new to this group. I am irish as my name says. I am 54 with 3 kids ages 36, 35 and 33. I like to collect recipes and create books for them and their kids. I am not a vegetarian although I need to learn to eat more veggies in my diet. Thank you C
Guest guest
Sorry that it took me so long to get back to you on this. I have been fairly busy. I am not a vegetarian because my husband is a meat and potatoes kind of guy. We have eaten that way for years and It is just easier to incoorporate veggies in our diets. He wont be so gruff about it that way. Colleen , jeannieh h <jeannieh99 wrote: > > Greetings Colleen, > > I feel a kind of kindred spirit with you as I too am in my 50's (54 next oct). Guest guest
Colleen, We have yet another common link...lol My husband is a meat and potatoes kind of guy too!!! I agree with you, it is a chore when you have a husband and children that love meat. I just decided that, (for me) it was best that I stay vegan/vegetarian simply because it is how I feel best. I do still, however, cook them meat when they ask me to. I have had to compromise. I will cook them meat if they will respect my choice not to eat it. They now do respect my decision and even consider this when deciding where to go eat.lol Another side effect,,,,,,,,My husband has said he would not mind eating meatless meals on occassion! I send him articles on how bad meat is for the body and how it is to blame for so many diseases. I also had him watch " A fast food Nation " . lol A low blow, I know. I'm patient. lol jeannie Colleen <irish72eyes wrote: Sorry that it took me so long to get back to you on this. I have been fairly busy.
