Guest guest
I just d to Vegetarian Times, and this was one of the questions they answered. " A healthy amount of protein per the Institute of Medicine guidelines is 10% to 35% of total calories. Vegetarians can easily meet these guidelines with protein-rich plant foods, including soy (tofu, soymilk, tempeh);...(beans)...; nuts (pistachios, almonds, walnuts, pecans); and seeds (sesame, sunflower, pumpkin). " I hope this helps. There are also some great and yummy green veggies that contain minimal amounts of protein, but every little bit adds up. Congrats on the change in lifestyle. I have been veggie since Nov. and am very, very happy with it. Guest guest
how do cows get so fat on protein...? They eat grass and grain. You might be surprised to know that all vegetables have some protein. A handful of uncooked spinach or broccoli will give you as much as a small steak!!! Protein and calcium are the least of your worries!!
