Guest guest
Haha now I made the mac and cheese and thought it tasted like wall spackle. The eggplant parm. Is so so but it is terrible heated up the next day. I agree with the ratings, you either love that book or hate it. The less you use cheese the more you really don't miss it. I would rather toss pasta with a good olive oil and herbs. There is a vegan sauce reicpe " Savory Sauce " I use on everything. It's in the sauce recipe folder. It is almost an Alfredo sauce in taste. That is a good idea about the tofu cottage cheese. I have used tofu in lasagna and it works great! Yes, I have to laugh, the Uncheese Cookbook is quite scary. My VERY skeptical husband did try the Uncheese Mac N'Cheese I made and said 'it's not bad'. But, again, I had to play with the recipe. The reviews on Amazon were 50/50. I don't think I would've gotten that book, if it wasn't to try it for my son. Well, at least I didn't have to pay for it. hehe. -Robyn @ <%40> , thelilacflower wrote: > > Hi Robyn, > I agree there is no perfect sub. Some are close. I just avoid them. I add tofu to my lasagna and stuffed shells. I really miss cottage cheese. If I crumble firm tofu and add a dash of lemon juice and salt it's a pretty good sub. I couldn't stand any recipe I tried in the Uncheese Cookbook > Welcome to the group > Donna > Sent via BlackBerry from T-Mobile
