Farmer's Market - was - what's everyone's favorite veggie?

My husband and I used to go almost every Sat. morning. We thought we were

getting fresh food and supporting local farmers but we found out that many

of the venders were getting their stuff from a food terminal. In the

winter here we can't of course get fresh veggies and fruits but we thought

we were getting free range eggs. One day I noticed the fellow we bought

from getting the eggs out of a large box with the name of a chicken factory

on it. We started going to a woman who had a farm and a sign in front of

her stand saying " Free Range Eggs. " We thought she had laying hens on her

farm. We bought from her for a couple of years until I saw her getting eggs

out of the same box from the chicken facory.

 

I find in the summer and fall that we have better luck buying fruit and

veggies from road side stands.
