Hi Donna, I'm new here too. I'm in transition, I'm cutting out meat

but still enjoy eggs and cheese once in a while.

Have you ever tried any of the marinated/baked tofu products (they're

usually right next to the regular tofu)? They're more " edible " if

you're turned off by the texture of tofu (I'm not crazy about it right

out of the package but I HAVE used the extra firm in a stir fry - my

husband didn't even notice!). If you freeze it then defrost it changes

the texture, and I'm starting to experiment baking/marinating my own.

There are also frozen products (crumbles, veggie burgers, chicken like

products (Quorn is one brand), and TVP-textured vegetable protein (I

just learned about it here! Got some yesterday and plan to try a

meatless loaf this weekend!). Or you can blend silken tofu into a

smoothie (I like it with almond or soy milk, fruit, sometimes almond

butter, rice protein powder, good protein there too).

I also love quinoa (has lots of protein) and am trying other grains.

And my favorite bean is the garbanzo (chick pea). Check out the

recipes, there are TONS of great ones (and I mean TONS!).

about 5 years now and enjoying it. Without liking tofu (can't get past

the thought of it) I feel like my choices are limited. Looking forward

to getting lots of ideas and encouragement.
