Put beans in pot with water and bring to a boil.Reduce heat, cover, and simmer for 35 minutes. Stir in rice and salt, and bring to a boil again. Reduce heat, cover, and simmer for 50 minutes. Stir in scallions and tamari. Serve hot with additional tamari on the side. MAKES 6 SERVINGS Note: Adzuki beans (sometimes spelled azuki) and tamari, which is similar to soy sauce, can be found in natural and health food stores.
