Guest guest
hi jo, I don't think it was for compassionate reasons that my household was vegetarian,(although, I am not sure) i think I've told this story before (sorry if I am repeting myself) when I was born, my dad left my mom. so she went to live at her friends who had a large apartment between riverside and fort washington. My mom and I had a room. Since my moms' friend was Seventh Day Adventist, her church was strict about no meat. the rule of the house was no meat, no junk food and keep the sabbath. My mom had hated meat since she was a kid in the 40's and 50's. She could never swallow it cause she thought it was gross. So my mom agreed to the rules of the house. (although we cheated on the sabbath part) I never even had soda as a kid. I hated being different then, but now I am glad. We did had dairy, in the house though. one incident I remember, was stench of fake bacon at school, made me want to trow up. , " jo " <jo.heartwork wrote: > > I tried it for a couple of years at the beginning of the 70s.
