Guest guest Posted May 30, 2006 Report Share Posted May 30, 2006 hi... i am posting this on behalf of gentle world. should reach over 1000 vegans. be interesting to know how many reply to " Gentle World " <gentle if anyone wants to help gentle world out with gw's latest mission, please send them the information they seek. namely good examples of persons who have contributed to our vegan movement in a positive manner. i agree such a vegan historic chronicle is needed. just off the top of my head, jainism is first and i am off to meet the jain community in gujarat, india in 6 more weeks, so i will be able to report directly on this once i am there. my jain friend in bhuruch is to introduce me. if not vegan, they are certainly the earliest roots of veganity then there is mahatma gandhi. i was lucky enough to secure his book " an autobiography " or the story of my experiments with truth. first edition 1927. in it he writes about experiments with veganism, this is before the word existed. i scored this book from the mahatma gandhi ashram in chandi dasa, bali many years ago. hippocrates.
