Guest guest
This is going to appear disjointed and somewhat out of date because I have been too upset to deal with it until just now. People who know me from this list know that I have a tendency to get IRATE. I live in Frederick, MD. It is the home of Fort Detrick Military Installation, from the folks who brought you the anthrax mail scare and Ebola virus contamination in one of their labs, with cross-contamination and I don’t know what all. The hometown newspaper, Frederick News-Post, has been running a series on a series of “accidents” that have happened in the handling of infected animals and germ/virus contamination. They listed these “accidents” one by one in a historical timeline. I had to quit reading when the article said something like: 1. A lab worker was bitten by an Ebola infected monkey. A report was compiled on the incident, and improved procedures were established for strapping and securing infected animals to examination tables. Well. I cannot even comment on this. Words fail me. If anyone is interested in the series, just go to Frederick News-Post online, and search Ft. Detrick in the archives. Cynthia
