Guest guest
I am having a lot of back problems. I had an MRI done last week and in addition to 3 herniated disks, the doctor said I am starting to get some arthritis in my back. (This is ridiculous. I sound like an old lady, but I am really only 25 years old!!) My mom suggested that I start taking some Glucosamine to help with my joints and help with some of the pain. However, I have been looking online, and from what I can tell, Glucosamine is made from shellfish. Does anyone know of any Glucosamine brand that is synthetic or does not come from an animal, or of any other vegetarian-friendly remedies to help prevent or treat arthritis?? Thank you!! Guest guest
I just took some and noticed the same thing (Glucosamine is made from shellfish), sorry I don't have a good answer for this. I have been having a lot of pain in my arms. From what I can tell it is tendinitis of the elbows (and also around my wrists). It started after I was riding my bike a lot, going trough a lot of potholes and my bike frame is rather stiff, so my body was absorbing too much of the shock apparently. I stayed off the thing for a couple of months, but it is my transportation! (do not own a car). I will be purchasing a mountain bike with good front shocks soon. Anyway, 4 months later the pain is not going away or even getting better. The reason I am posting this is because I read recently that nightshade vegetables can contribute to joint pain in people that are sensitive to the alkaloids found in these vegetables. I started to experiment, no nightshades for a month for me (potatoes, all capsicum peppers, eggplants and tomatoes - well and tobacco but that is not exactly edible). I love these things but I do not like being in pain. If you are one of the people that are sensitive and have arthritis, then not eating nightshades might help, so you might want to consider eliminating them for a while and see if you get better. I hope I am not sensitive, not sure that I can survive more than a month without hot peppers! but I am giving it a try. I will re-post if I notice a difference. Good luck to you. , " Stephanie " <stephsstuff001 wrote: > > I am having a lot of back problems.
