Guest guest
I recycle a lot through my daughter's school. The teachers reuse ice cream tubs, paper towel and toilet paper tubes, lots of different things for projects. I too buy large sizes and refill smaller size bottles. I save aluminum cans for melting candle wax, and yogurt containers and creamer bottles for candle forms. I save remnants of candles for remelting. We compost kitchen waste. Other things too but I can't think of what just now. amy **************Start the year off right. We reuse large tubs like that too, for dogfood, de-icer, take them to work for all manner of things. **************Start the year off right. Cut them up into squares, punched holes around the edges, crocheted the squares together and then turned the squares into a bag with a lining yet. Not exactly my taste, but certainly unique. Guest guest
I remember when our dogs were pups and would get into the yarn. Their creations resembled some rather abstract art. For the bucket, burn a hole through the lid with something like a woodburning tool or soldering gun. If you cut the hole rather than burn, it might be rough and cut your yarn. Love the buckets...you can through the pattern, hooks, yarn and everything in and carry it with you. I always wanted one of those nice yarn/hook/pattern bags but the buckets are free, waterproof and so far the animals haven't figured out how to get them open...unlike the refrigerator which we have to keep shut with bungie cords. Guest guest
Any tips on recycling those small styrofoam coolers that medication from the specialty pharmacy is shipped in? I saw one idea for using them as patio planters for herbs and flowers. Judy in Baton Rouge **************Start the year off right.
