Guest guest Posted January 12, 2008 Report Share Posted January 12, 2008 @@@@@ Tamarillo Dressing - SW United States (TexMex) 1 pound Tamarillo, ripe 1/2 teaspoon Pepper 1/3 cup Maui Onions, or other sweet onion, minced 1 teaspoon Sugar 2 tablespoon White Wine Vinegar 1/3 cup Olive Oil Salt to taste Dice the Tamarillos and place in a non-metallic bowl. Add the onions. Prepare dressing by mixing in a jar; the vinegar, salt, pepper and sugar until dissolved. Add the olive oil and shake well. Add dressing to Tamarillos and mix well. Servings: 6 Peeling Tamarillo: Fill a big cooking pot with water and bring to a boil. Drop the Tamarillos in the boiling water and boil for 30 seconds. Remove from boiling water and drop in ice water for about a minute to stop cooking. The skin should now peel easily.
