Cook over medium heat, stirring several times, for about 5 minutes, or until the peppers have softened slightly. Add all of the remaining ingredients to the green pepper mixture and bring to a boil over high heat. Lower the heat to a simmer and cook uncovered for about 10 minutes, or until the sauce is slightly thickened. Serve immediately, or store in the refrigerator for up to a week. Rewarm over medium heat. Makes 3 cups.
