Several of the recipes are from or based on Tamara's sweet treats group - I'll

put the link in,later.

Maple Walnut Fudge (based on recipe from

tamaras_sweet_treats/ }

1 bag butterscotch flavored chips

1 stick butter

8 ounces cream cheese, softened

2 teaspoons maple extract

4 cups confectioners' sugar

1 cup chopped black walnuts

TOPPING

2 cups chocolate chips (semi-sweet or milk chocolate)

1 tablespoon shortening

Put butter, butterscotch ships, cream cheese and maple extract in sauce pan.

Melt, stirring, over low heat. When melted, remove from heat. Add chopped black

walnuts. With wire whisk, stir in powdered sugar, 1 c. at a time, until smooth.

(Depending on humidity in air, you might not need that much confectioners'

sugar, or you might need more.) Pat into a buttered oblong baking pan (mine was

called a biscuit pan and is about 12 inches long, 8 wide and an inch deep (ish)

When the fudge has hardened, cut into squares and place on waxed paper.

Melt chocolate and shortening over low heat. (water in chocolate, even a drop

left in the sauce pan, will turn it to a blob of ruined chocolate.) Using fork,

drizzle melted chocolate over candies. After the chocolate has hardened, trim

off excess strings of chocolate and put candies in air tight container.

(Providing you have any left, that is.) Put waxed paper between layers of

candy.
