Impressive meat substitutes ... a newcomer ..

Hello, my first post.

As the chief cook in our house and the only one who *isn't* an

ethical vegetarian .... I must make a plea for meat substitutes ... I

seriously miss sausages, bacon, pork chops - partly for the flavour

but especially for the texture. It is very difficult to make *chewy*

things from cooked vegetables!

Some of the substitutes are made directly from beans (so that's just

a matter of presentation) while others (tofu) from fermented beans

and yet others from fungi (quorn) - it's not as if any of them came

from petrochemicals ....!

Cheers,

Paul
