Guest guest
Now that is so healthy breakfast. I had no idea you could do the steel cut oats in the rice cooker. I usually have the pan overflow onto the stove and I make a mess cooking them. I sure will try this out. Makes about 12 servings. Serve with a tablespoon of flaxseeds, a teaspoon of sucranat and a spinkling of cinnamon. > > Scrambled egg-whites: > > 4 oz. diced mushrooms (I have a mushroom disliker, so I cut them so that they are unrecognisable) > 1 red pepper, finely diced > 1/2 an onion, finely diced > 2 cups egg whites (I use the break-free cartons of egg-whites) > 1 tsp thyme > 1/2 tsp sea salt > > Sauté the veggies in a spray of olive oil on medium high heat. Once onions are translucent, add egg-whites. As eggs set on the bottom of the pan, pull away from the sides and let the uncooked eggs run into the space left behind. > > If I don't have time for the eggs, I make a Chai protein shake: > > 12oz boiling water > 2 Yogi Tea Black Chai Tea bags > 1 tsp organic honey > 1 scoop organic vanilla protein powder > > In a large insulated commuter mug, pour boiling water over tea bags. Let steep for 5 minutes. Remove tea bags. Add honey and stir until disolved. Add protein powder, secure lid to commuter mug and shake until all the powder is desolved (I find that some commuter mugs do not have the best seal to do this. If your mug leaks sometimes cover the opening of the mug with plastic wrap before securing the lid, and then shake.) Now, run out the door and sip on your drive into work > > Cheers! > Denise Gontard Cartwright > > >
