Guest guest
I had no idea how to eat a rutabagas umtil I discovered this easy excellent recipe. I will have to try them again in more recipes. Pete Rutabagas-Carrot Mash with Lemon rutabagas 2 or 3 carrots 2 or 3 lemon salt butter, optional Peel rutabagas and carrots. Cut them into 1/2 inch chunks and place in a pot. Cover with water and add a goodly amount of salt (like half a teaspoon or more, not just a pinch). Bring to a boil then reduce heat and simmer 10 to 15 minutes, until they’re tender and easily pierce with a sharp knife. Drain well and mash with a potato masher, or if you like a smoother consistency, use a food processor or blender. Squeeze in a bunch of fresh lemon juice and stir to incorporate. Serve just like that, or add some butter or you can let people add butter at the table. ______________________________\ ____ Never miss a thing. Guest guest
You can use them in any turnip recipe. I love them mixed with mashed potatoes, or even by themselves, mashed with salt and pepper. You can also slice them raw and they taste like a radish.
