Swedish Mashed Potatoes

 

1 pound yellow turnips, cubed

1 1/2 pounds white potatoes, peeled and cubed

1/8 teaspoon white pepper

1/8 teaspoon ground allspice

little salt to taste

butter

milk

 

Cook turnips in salted water until almost tender. Add

potatoes and cook until potatoes are soft. Drain. Add

spices. Mash with milk.) Serve garnished with butter.

Yields 4 to 6 servings.
