Oh Donna, your mother sounds so sweet. Please thank her for the hugs.

I am 51 and I developed fibro shortly after my hysterectomy. I have met other

women who have had the same experience...just makes me wonder.

God bless you and your mother, thanks.

Oh my. I spend $1.59 for the silken kind (which isn't for baking, I've

learned). 1.99 for the other stuff. At these prices, I think it wouldn't take

long for my soy milk maker to pay for itself.

Donna, I told my dh tonight, " you know that I'm going to run out of ink tonight "

:)

How much is a 1 lb tub of tofu there? I get it for 79 cents and quite often it's

59 cents at the Asian market but I need a clothespin for my nose and blinders

for my eyes. The places smell and I don't like seeing some of the dishes they

have cooked or the seafood area. Yikes! I grab that tofu and head for the

register...........D

cheap in MI. No wonder my mom complained up a storm when she moved back from AZ.

I've tried to grow it here the last two summers, but it bolts too quickly. My

mom groans like crazy when she pays our prices for it :) Plus, she just told me

that we pay a lot more for Tofu up here. I'm going to buy a soymilk maker one of

these days, soon.

Thank you for the nice welcome, Donna.

That's why I'm here - to get enough good recipes that meat won't be an issue.

I went to a vegetarian class put on by a local hospital hoping to get some

meatless recipes. All the recipes contained tofu and I'm looking recipes

without it. Not to say that I didn't like the tofu - I was impressed at how it

absorbed the flavor of what it was being cooked with. I'm a little confused by

it - firm, extra-firm, silken. I need to get more educated on it. Right now, I

am a full time grad student and with my erratic schedule, I haven't been eating

the greatest. It's something I need to work on.

Welcome in, I'm not one for spicy food either but we have so many good recipes

and I usually just have the spice or leave the hot pepper out and enjoy. Thanks

for joining us and coming our of lurkdom, we don't care if you aren't a

vegetarian. I have high hopes that you will find so many good recipes with us

that you may just forget about meat (:-)

Thanks for the welcome, Amy.

Would that be Blue Nile by chance? I've never had Ethiopian food. In

general, I'm a bit timid with anything that might be spicy. I would like to try

to expand my horizons, though.
