Guest guest
Remember too that a glass jar is safer to use for sprouting seeds and beans. So easy ..No fancy equipment needed. A glass canning jar works great. I know you 'old timers' like me,have sprouting down pat but this info is meant for the beginners. If anyone would like more info on sprouting please contact me off line. Deanna in Colorado
Guest guest
I was planning on using the ones in the market that are sold for eating. Wouldn't those be safe since they are sold as food. My mother bought hers in the grocery store. I may not be understanding what you are saying. Why would they not be safe? As for chemicals sprayed on them, wouldn't I still be consuming them if I am still eating them? genny_y2k <genny_y2k wrote: -One should never sprout any packaged, grocery store bought, beans that are not specifically marked safe for sprouting. Packaged store bought beans unless marked 'organic untreated' are coated with chemicals , some specifically treated to keep them from sprouting. You can buy bulk, untreated, organic seeds and beans labled for sprouting at your local health food store. Guest guest
I have always taken beans from packs I use for cooking, rinse and sprout them. I don't know anything either about them being bad for sprouting. Donna --- Pondering Cat <pondering_cat wrote: > I was planning on using the ones in the market that > are sold for eating.
