Guest guest
Is THAT where I remember this soup from, Donna! Now I understand. I'm new to making split pea soup/s and I've been elaborating on a recipe received from a friend on another list. Skipping the faux bakon, I've added crushed chillies and cummin and then declared 'Oh Yeah! That's it!' - bells ringing in my taste buds (hah!) like mad. Days of yore, days of yore. Thanks for that! luv, Pat (never a hippy cuz I never dared)
Guest guest
Ahhh! what to do with that silly yellow squash. I decided that hubby wouldn't go for a big yellow squash floating in his soup so I chopped it up and suateed it with the onion and garlic. I followed the rest of the recipe and it was great. I doubt that the squash changed the flavor, cause it is pretty mild, but it made dinner more nutritious, anyway. Thanks again for that great recipe.
