Guest guest
Parsnips look just like carrots but are a light cream colored. They aren't the easiest to find, but should be in the produce section of your larger grocery stores. Welcome to the group. Check out our recipe files. Judy - Peg H Monday, November 19, 2007 8:13 PM New and question Hi, I was raised until I was 14 years of age as an ovo-lacto vegetarian. I then ate limited meat for the next 30 years. (when I say limited, I mean a few times a month) Two years ago I had my gallbladder removed and since then cannot seem to get the IBS symptoms that developed to abate. As a result, I have gone back to my roots and thus my vegetarian ways and find that slowly but surely my IBS symptoms are finally abating and again tolerable. I should have done this 20 years ago and I probably wouldn't have had so many health problems -- but hey, we live and learn, right??!!! My question -- I've seen quite a few recipes with parsnips, but have no idea what they are. Are they called another name as well?? I've looked extensively in our grocery stores to no avail, that's why I'm wondering if they are called something else. Any help would be appreciated. Guest guest
Ahhh that could be the problem!! I live very rurally and even our largest grocery store about 45 miles away, didn't have them. But a smaller one, which is closer by, will get me anything I want - perhaps I need to try these parsnips!! What do they taste like?? They sound quite interesting and some of the recipes I've seen actually sound quite good!
