Guest guest
I am late chiming in on this subjuect so please indulge me. Growing up we always had a fake tree. My mom would put up the tree the day after Thanksgiving and there is stayed till New Years Day. When I was married my ex and I did pretty much the same thing - it looked like the holidays threw up in our house. For the last 6 years that I have been on my own in an apartment I have not gone the traditional tree route. Having two cats that weight over 20# each and still think they should climb the tree, and not having any floor space in said apartment for a tree - I have done a little 3' fiber optic tree, a rosemary tree, and my favorite was the year we painted a huge tree with water soluble paints on my patio doors complete with garland, ornaments and candles. My main tradition is I have an open house on Yule and have a Yule log candle burning and everyone is invited to light a candle in the apartment from the Yule log. That whole sympathic magick thing of reminding the sun to come back. I am allergic to pine trees, wreaths, candles, or even air freshners. So the smell of the season to me is cinnamon and peppermint. Cotton balls sprinkled with essential oils scattered around the house befor running the sweeper makes my house smell all " seasonal " . I am thinking this year I am going to paint a tree again. I also have some bushes in front of my apartment (most people would call it a condo - private entry, 2000 sq feet, next to the woods) so I will probably do strung pop corn and cranberries outside for my animal friends. Last time I did this I had a bunch of friends over for a painting party and mulled wine and cider. Laura, MI *~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~ " Any change, any loss, does not make us victims. Guest guest
Laura, That sounds like fun.. I found 2 fake trees that I like. One silver, for my son and a green one for us. I would be happy with the silver only, but my husband says for my son to have it in the basement..So, this way everybody is happy..
