oh that sounds beautiful. When I was a child we lived on one hillside in

Tennessee and faced another hillside. It was always so pretty at night when the

lights on the other hillside came on. We had a picture window that faced it.

Your city, ocean and fire island view sound so scenic. Do you ever have

trouble getting off your hillside once you get all that snow?

I live on a hillside, overlooking the city and out over knik arm, part of the

ocean. All summer when the leaves are on the trees, I can't see the water, but

when the leaves fall, I can see the water again. It is probably 3 or 4 miles

away, but I love looking at it and at Fire Island off in the distance.

I can see the water durring the winter, too, but once it is covered with ice

and snow it isn't so nice to look at

I don't live very far up the hill. I am only about 1 block off a major road

and 5 blocks from a major intersection so if I can get off the little road I

live on, onto the main drag, I have no trouble. Higher up the hill, they can

get snowed in for days at a time. Most of us who live on the hillside have 4

wheel drive to get around in the snow.

In addition to being able to see the inlet in winter, on clear days, I am able

to see Mt. McKinnley 500 miles north of us.
