I peel an onion or two fry them till slightly brown then add boiled potatoes and sauerkraut and fry some more. Season only with black pepper. Sauerkraut soup: 2 medium sized onions 2 small or medium sized carrots shredded 2 small or medium sized potatoes cubed 1 cup of frozen peas 1 cup of shredded fresh cabbage 1 cup of chick peas (from can or pre-cooked) 1 cup of sweet corn (canned or frozen) 5 teeth of garlic 2 cups of sauerkaut (depends of taste - tangy) Saut onions with garlic then add all the above ingredients in pot add 1 level teaspoon of sugar, add black pepper and cook until tender. Add salt according to taste as sauerkraut is salty. Sauerkraut may also be added to falafel eaten with pita bread. Sarah Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
