This is what I do with my steel oats for breaky that tastes just like desert.

I boil the steel oats, meanwhile I defrost some raspberries & blueberries so

there is a little bit of juice. In a bowl I put the fruit with some organic

vanilla yogurt, scoop the steel oats on top, sprinkle with toasted almonds. Add

just a couple tablespoons of milk.

mmmmm good.

5 cups water

1-1/4 cups steel cut oats

1 teaspoon grated lemon rind

1 teaspoon ground cinnamon

1/4 teaspoon ground nutmeg

1/4 teaspoon ground flaxseed

2 cups blueberries

a handful of walnuts

Bring water to a rapid boil. Add oats, lemon rind, cinnamon, nutmeg,

and flaxseed and lower heat to a simmer. Stirring occasionally, cook

for about 20 minutes or until you like the texture. Add blueberries and

cook for five minutes more. Turn off heat, add walnuts, cover pot and

leave on the stovetop for another five minutes.

Makes about 8 cups
