Guest guest
Don't worry about to much gas from those good healthy foods that sometime cause that side effect. It is not worth loosing the health benefits of those good nutrition rich foods, like beans, things like broccoli, cabbage, brussel sprouts, rutabaga's, some fruits. etc.......... Take a charcoal tablet or Gas-X or Beano to quickly get rid of it. They even have those Gas-X strips that melt on your tongue now, so you can take it anywhere. Read this and you feel lots better. http://health.ivillage.com/digestion/digas/topics/0,,4v1b,00.html (don't miss the links on this site that give you even more info on gas) and this one. http://www.sheilashea.com/gas.html I'm glad that you are retrying many new foods. Often times the more we eat them, the more we enjoy them. I used to dislike Asparagus, until I tasted it in some salad and didn't realize it was in it and it was great from then on. Also with Brussel Sprouts, I didn't care for them at all, but knew how really good they are for us and so I just kept eating them prepared different ways and no I love them... Don't give up on foods that are good for you. You have to keep trying them prepared different ways. Well I'm off to hit the hay and hopefully get some good sleep. One of my daughters has a big sewing project she wants us to work togehter on and my brain needs to be clear and my body full of energy to do this. I don't sew often and it is alway a challange to get in the right set of mind to tackle it. LOL Especially when blind zippers and button hole making is involved. Pray for a clear mind, that we finish it with no problems. I am a picky eater, too. It is nice to know I am not the only one. I'm iffy on many vegetables but I'm learning to eat a few new things. I have to be careful not to eat too much bean and possibly soy because of gas issues. Still, we can find things to eat and be successful vegetarians. :-) -ginger just north of Boston , " Karen Rath " <karenrath wrote: > > For those who want to be vegetarian but are having trouble, I wish to offer encouragement. I am an unusually picky eater who dislikes all vegetables except potatoes, onions, garlic, leeks, shallots, celery, carrots, sweet peppers, and hot peppers. I hate everything in the cabbage family except kale. I hate olives, cucumbers, eggplant, mushrooms, rice, and all Asian food. While I don't hate any fruits, the only fruits I love are strawberries, apples, bananas and raisins, and I rarely eat any others. I share this because most likely you are not this extreme, but if I can succeed at being vegetarian for a year and a half, anyone can. <SNIP>
