Guest guest
I probably have over 200 cookbooks. I also take ideas from multiple recipes and combine them into something new. My favorite cookbook is " The Tao of Cooking: An International Vegetarian Cookbook " by Sally Pasley. April , thelilacflower wrote: I have shelves of cookbooks too. Probaby 500 or somewhere in that range. Some I just read others I cook from. My sister will find a recipe in the group files or from a magazine and try it, she owns only a few cookbooks, maybe 5. Right now, I own about 500 cookbooks, about half vegetarian/vegan, but I gave away a couple of hundred when I moved last year, and when I moved a few years before that. Had I kept them all, I'm sure I'd at or near 1000 cookbooks. My sisters have 2 or 3 cookbooks each and think I'm crazy. They don't consider my cookbooks a collection, or even useful, and keep asking me if I actually use all those cookbooks. I keep telling them that I do use them all, though I don't necessarily cook from them all. They are such fun to read, and so inspirational! I often will research recipes by comparing a number of similar recipes, and then will take parts of each to make my own recipe. I often read them at bedtime like other people read novels. Does anyone else suffer from the same disease? Denise
