Guest guest
Greetings all - Hope this beautiful fall season finds you all well and preparing for your fall and winter harvests... As the days grow shorter and the nights grow longer I often find myself making ready for the cold nights ahead - this time of the year I prep my garden beds - turning the earth and adding mulching, rolling the compost piles and make ready for my fall and winter crops. In the sate in which our nations food supply is being compromised - it becomes very more apparent to me that we must all learn and know how to raise our own food crops, herbs, plants and the like - I wanted to take time to share these with you all as well... As I was going through a list of web links for various heirloom seeds, medicinal herbs, collected plants and gardening - I thought that some of you might enjoy these and even find them useful... in our quest for self sustainability in our food supplies... heirloom seeds http://www.organicaseed.com/ http://rareseeds.com/ http://www.seedsavers.org/ http://www.heirloomacresseeds.com/ http://www.seedstrust.com/ http://www.grannysheirloomseeds.com/ http://www.eonseed.com/ medicinal herbs http://nnlm.gov/pnr/uwmhg/ http://www.herbsociety.org/ http://sci.agr.ca/london/herb/index_ e.htm collected plants http://www.attra.org/attra- pub/ghveg. html http://www.rexresearch.com/agro/1pestic.htm http://www.rexresearch.com/agro/comp1.htm http://www.raintreenursery.com/ http://botit.botany.wisc.edu/toms_ fungi/dec2002. html http://henryfields.com/Default. asp? http://tomvolkfungi.net/ http://www.stevia.net/ http://www.stevia.net/fda.htm http://www.stevia.net/growingstevia.htm http://www.thewatergardenshop.com/subplan. html http://www.clonep.com/english/ http://www.agnet.org/library/article/tb167. html http://journeytofor ever.org/compost_humanure .html http://journeytofor ever.org/seeds.html http://www.motherearthnews.com/library/1975_May_June/Farming_For_Self_ Sufficiency http://www.pfaf.org/index.html http://www.perennials.com/edibletable.html http://www.zeta.org.au/~anbrc/keepingstinglessbees.html http://www.kidsgardening.com/growingideas/projects/March02/mar02pg1.ht m http://www.nativetech.org/cornhusk/threesisters.html http://www.reneesga rden.com/articles/3sisters. html http://www.motherearthnews.com/library/1975_January_February /Seed_Sto rage http://www.ciwmb.ca.gov/organics/Xeriscaping/ http://www.webcoast.com/xeriscape/ http://www.swfwmd.state.fl.us/yards/ http://www.natpestco.com/ http://www.buglogical.com/ http://www.shade-cloth-diy.com/garden-designs/garden-designs.shtml http://www.rawbc.org/articles/farmless_ farm.html http://www.geocities.com/newlibertyvillage/earthstar/starburst.htm http://www.risc.org.uk/garden/ http://flower-gardening-made-easy.com/balcony-and-roof-gardening.html http://www.ces.ncsu.edu/depts/hort/hil/hil-8701. html http://edis.ifas.ufl.edu/EP012 http://www.arborsmith.com/world_tour.html http://www.saisanjeevini.org/wheat.htm http://www.cityfarmer.org/wheatgras s.html http://www.pfaf.org/database/plants.php?Salicornia+europaea http://www.urbangar deninghelp.com/urbanfood.htm http://www.thirdangel.com/sustainability/ http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Urban_agriculture http://users.ncable.net.au/~urbanfoodgarden/ http://www.fao.org/ag/magazine/0206sp2.htm http://nnlm.gov/pnr/uwmhg/ http://sci.agr.ca/london/herb/index_e.htm If some of the links do not open I apologize - tried most of them again and they all appear to work - however no guarantees!
