Guest guest
Good to know about the green split peas. And your version of the soup sounds *wonderful*. I think I will have to try that very soon! I managed to score a few bags of Basmati rice off the 50% off markdown bin at the grocery store, so I need to find uses for them. Thanks so much for the words of encouragement. :-) I really like to cook, once I actually DO it. It's the getting started that's the problem. lol Plus, it's so much healthier than restaurant or convenience food. I ended up adding about 2 extra cups of broth and added some Basamti Rice in the last 10 minutes of the cooking. I also added a can of diced tomatoes. Somehow my taste buds were wanting the tomatoes in it. It tasted great before I added them at the same time as the rice in the last 10 minutes of cooking however, so the tomatoes were just something I was craving tonight. I'm so proud of you for cooking tonight Tully. Good for you! Isn't it fun to make things in the kitchen and enjoy good food, instead of depending on what restaurants choices we have and their high prices? Here to lots more fun cooking, Judy _______ Well, do you ever get the feeling that the story's too damn real and in the present tense?
