Rice Cooker

I have been listening to everything favorable about the rice cooker,

but I turn out perfect brown rice, with a covered casserole, in my

microwave. Is there a reason I shouldn't cook it that way; perhaps, I

am losing food value? When I make stews with rice, I either cook the

rice separately or throw it in the pot with whatever I'm cooking. It

always gets done, for me, but I don't like fluffy soft rice; done, but

al dente is more to my liking.
