I am a veterinary oncology nurse and need scrubs for work. I no longer

buy my scrubs from retailers. I purchase all my scrub tops and pants

at thrift stores or flea markets. I never pay over $3.99 for a top or

pants and most times, these clothes have been worn not at all or

barely. I got THE BEST compliment the other day. Another vet nurse

from radiology came up to me and said " Roxy, you have the neatest

scrubs, where do you find them? " Imagine the look on her face when I

not only told her where I get them and how much I paid. (the other day

she was so proud to tell me she found 2 tops at her TS for $1.99 each)

The savings is tremendous especially when they can run up to $30 a

piece.

And cookbooks, I have purchased ALL my vegetarian cookbooks at flea

markets, yard sales or thrift stores. Very rarely do I pay more than

$5 for one. Speaking of which, I need to get moving...2 flea markets

today! WOOHOOO On the look for that elusive grain mill! ;o)

Roxy,

A young friend of ours was entering medical training and had little

or no money for needed scrubs. We bought several like new scrubs for

her at our local thrift store 'ARC'. Excellent buys for less than $4

ea. I also buy my Vegetarian Cook Books at the ARC. Often they appear

to have never been opened. I'm assuming that book stores donate them.

I have never paid more than $3 for these beautifully illustrated,

wonderful recipe books. I wrote a letter of appreciation to ARC

thanking them for helping us to recycle and also help mentally

challanged people have jobs. I wear all cotton clothing and find name

brand great buys at the ARC including expensive Hemp clothing. I also

buy bags of yarn for $2 for making crochet projects.

Life is just way too good sometimes..
