Hugs, Chanda - Barbara Saturday, September 22, 2007 12:45 AM Re: antibaterial soap and dishsoap Hi, Plain old soap is the best; antibacterial crap, causes the bacteria to mutate a get used to it, and that is one of the reasons that so many antibiotics are becoming useless. Another reason is people are not finishing their antibiotics, and that gives the bacterium more strength, resulting in the need for newer, stronger antibiotics. If you live in too sterile an environment, you immune system weakens, and you become more suseptible to bacterial infections. Health food stores have organic liquid and non-liquid detergents. Also, people who use anti-bacterial soup are actually using soap where so many people just rinse their hands with water and say that is good enough. I don't use them. I use plain ole soap. In fact, usually the soap I made a couple years ago when I was making soap like crazy. I have enough to last a loooong time. :-) (This was back when lye was easier to get. Now it's much harder because it's used to make crystal meth.)
