Guest guest
In the interest of my friend's health, I have decided to come to you, the experts in the field of vegetarianism. My boyfriend is a type 1 diabetic. (since age 8, now 43 years of age) He believes he has to have animal protien daily because of his diabetes. I believe it does not matter what kind of protien as long as he has protien in his diet. Please enlighten us, StarLadyAstara
Guest guest
You are100% right. You need not worry. Frankly the high protein diet can be harmful for kidney and the kidney is the most vulnerable organ for a diabetic. You have to maintain a balance to keep sugar to its normal level by eating small quantity more frequently. First conduct a urine protein test and then decide the quantity of protein to be taken.
