Kamut and Creamy Rice Farina

3 cups water

3/4 cup creamy rice farina

1/4 cup Kamut flour

2 tablespoons sunflower seeds

2 tablespoons honey or other sweetener

1 tablespoon amaranth seeds -- lightly toasted

salt to taste

 

This porridge has a delightful mouth feel and light, sweet flavor.

 

Plastic Steamers: Fill water reservoir to maximum and turn on steamer. Add

ingredients and steam for 60 to 70 minutes until grain is soft and chewy. If

grain is not cooked when machine turns off, add more water to reservoir and

rice bowl, if needed.

 

Metal Steamers: Coat rice bowl with nonstick spray. Add ingredients with an

additional 1 cup of water. Let grain steam for 10 additional minutes on warm

after machine turns off.
