Guest guest
Well, that would prove you aren't familiar with political activists of the 60s and 70s. How did I know him? Well, certainly not in the Biblical sense. Same gatherings, same meetings plus at one point when he was playing mad dog over the Corvair he literally went door to door to get people to back him that owned Corvairs. My significant other at the time owned a Corvair. That was my first meeting with the Rasputin type person. He ranted and raved because Bob wasn't interested in his lawsuit and, in fact, loved that little Corvair. Also, you don't seem to have a good feel for the reality that is California, nor of the dog show and horseshow worlds. I've sold horses to movie stars and had them make appearances to hand out awards at horse shows I've put on. I've had pictures of my dogs on the front page of SF newspapers to help publicise the dog shows in SF. We had " famous " folks who were hunters use our butcher shop (Kenny Stabler is just one). And Al Davis, Vita Blue were just a couple of the folks we met through the tire shop my mother managed. We met most of the Raiders because they trained at the local CC. Reagan and others showed horses and we met them at shows and at award banquets. And then there were politics. I met Patty Hearst at Bezerkley's People's Park and no, she was NOT kidnapped! One of my high school classmates and slumber party friends was Nancy Ling Perry of SLA fame or infamey. And as a wee child I went everywhere with my grandfather who was politically active and met govenors and presidents. I was at Alcatraz and know lots of folks through that political activity. As the tribe's historian I've been interviewed on television, am a keynote speaker at schools and am referenced in various articles on history of Indians in California. I did grant planning and met lots of folks through that. I've been on redevelopment committee and met lots of politicians through that. Why, I've even been to England and dined with Lady Wentworth! Corresponded with the powers that be in Bahrain. If it offends you, I'm really sorry that I haven't led a boring life locked into doing the housewifey thing. And, no I don't know every person ever mentioned. Never heard of that David person or 90% of the punk bands you mention. But then, I find that their lack of being able to stay on key grates on my ears as badly as Cash seems to on your's. Guest guest
Hi Lynda > Wow, KISSing (KeepItShortStupid) posts is always a good idea and to the > folks actually on digest, for myself I apologize and will do better in the > future. No need to apologize, we all forget from time to time. Especially when trying to keep up with the group. > Interesting that I went back and looked at what I sent and blessed if there > were five posts hanging there that the complainer had snipped from their > posts. If ya mean by complainer me, then that would simply be Nikki. But I'm not complaining, just reminding. >Hmmmm, do as I say not as I do, I guess. Wow, you are so thorough. You must be so proud of that. Yes, I do miss some from time to time. I am allowed mistakes too. Who said I wasn't reminding me too? And I do try to snip whenever possible. Doesn't make me better nor worse than anyone. Just a reminder. But if you don't like those, look the other way. Nikki
