For the first time, a feature film takes an in-depth look at the takeover of our food supply by multinational corporations and the widespread advent of unlabeled, patented, and unregulated genetically modified crops and foods. Environment California is a statewide, non-partisan organization focusing exclusively on protecting California's air, water and open spaces. We speak out and take action at the local, state and national levels to improve the quality of our environment and our lives. Environment California is the new home of CALPIRG's environmental program. Environment California and CALPIRG believe that genetically engineered food ingredients or crops should not be allowed on the market unless independent safety testing demonstrates they have no harmful effects on human health or the environment; They are labeled to ensure the consumer's right-to-know; and the biotechnology corporations that manufacture them are held responsible for any harm. Environment California has specifically worked on the issue of " biopharm " - the practice of manufacturing pharmaceuticals in farm crops. www.environmentcalifornia.org/
