kettle corn is created by adding sugar to the popcorn just as it begins to pop

historically it was popular in colonial america, when they were pop it in big cast iron pots..hence kettle

 

it more er less disappeared from the scene fer a long time, occassionally popping up at fairs and such

P.S. what is kettle corn?corn in the shape of a kettle?corn out of a kettle? the only thing we Welsh use a kettle for is tea.The nectarine sounds nice!
