As I said it is a cult thing - like Blakes Seven - appeals to some and not to others. It was certainly influential for future comedy. Unfortunately, because I did not much like Monty Python, I did not bother to watch the Life of Brian for many years - when I did I thought it was one of the funniest films ever made. Guest guest Posted August 25, 2005 Report Share Posted August 25, 2005 I don't know about British :-) Definitely Anglo Saxon from Peter's research. Now look - Valley Vegan has me splitting hairs. It still wouldn't come up near the top of my favourite comedies, although I like the parrot sketch, and the ministry of funny walks. I much prefer Fry and Laurie, which is similar.
