Guest guest
Saves a lot of headaches in preparation and tastes great. [Good one for those of us who have no nice apple trees, to utilize the extra fruit.] You must use a bit of your own talent because I just " dump " the ingredients. Don't you hate that when you ask for a recipe! I gave this at Christmas 2006, but need to make a different kind for this year...maybe pear butter? If I do, I will swirl canned pears in the processor to make a sauce and do the same as I did for apple butter! Anyway, try it and see if this is for you. Barb ~~Cheaters Apple Butter~~ Largest jar of " store bought " applesauce... maybe 2 quarts or so, or buy two smaller one's and combine. Dump it into a 9 X 12 pan Add sugar, cinnamon to taste; remember it cooks down. Bake at 350 uncovered and stir often, until it cooks down to a nice apple butter consistency. It will be thinner hot than cold. Use sterilized *jars and give some to your friends. Keep it in the refrigerator or freeze some for later, for yourself. I look in the thrift store for *different glass jars, with screw on lids.
