Milo Whole Wheat Chocolate Chip Muffins - Low Fat - TNT (US)

NOTE: Organic ingredients are recommended...

INGREDIENTS:

1/3 c milk* (reduced or no fat)

1 c plain yogurt*

1 lg egg*

1/3 c maple syrup* (or pure honey)

2 c whole wheat flour*

2 tsp baking soda

1/2 tsp cinnamon

1/4 tsp nutmeg

1/2 cup Milo

1/2 cup chocolate chips* (optional)

METHODS:

Preheat the oven to 375F and lightly grease a 12 cup muffin tin.

Or line up 12 muffin cups in pan.

In a large bowl, whisk together milk, yogurt, egg and maple syrup (or pure

honey).

In a medium bowl,

stir together whole wheat flour, baking soda, cinnamon and nutmeg.

Pour into the large bowl and stir wet and dry ingredients together

until just combined, mixing in chocolate chips at the last minute, if using.

Distribute batter evenly in 12 muffin cups.

Bake for 15-18 minutes at 375F,

until the muffin springs back when lightly pressed and a tester comes out clean.

Remove from tin and cool completely on wire rack before serving.

*Note:

Organic Valley organic no fat milk

Organic Valley organic extra large brown eggs

Fage Yogurt, I used no fat plain yogurt, a style I highly recommend,

but any fat content should work.

King Arthur organic whole wheat flour

Maple Valley organic maple syrup

Goodbaker organic chocolate chips
