Guest guest
I don't know how many Walmarts we have around here - I'd say at least 6 of the Supercenters and 3 or 4 of the Neighborhood Markets. The only other option is a regional grocery chain that started here in Springdale and the price difference is just outrageous. For example, Boca Original Vegan Burger runs $2.50 to $2.88 at Walmart, but at Harps, it's $3.55 and up! It's insane the price differences between the two stores on absolutely everything. The only thing I like at Harps is that they'll make up fruit salads (no dressings, just mixed fruits) out of the fruit that is starting to go over. Not that they take the bad stuff, but like in a package of berries, they'll take out the bad ones, and put the good ones in a new container with all sorts of things - blueberries, cantaloupe, watermelon, raspberries. I'm learning to like cantaloupe which I never would eat before. And, since I'm now on a low-fat/cholesterol/sodium/sugar diet, one of their bowls of fruit will last me maybe two days and I get a variety. Plus they do still carry the Boca smoked sausages. I'd like to get back up to the Neighborhood Market in Rogers though because they used to have a whole separate section - a little room - of dietetic, organic, vegetarian foods. I've really got to get my van fixed so I can shop where I want to! And they used to have side salads, but most of the time they're just a pile of plain iceberg lettuce with some shredded carrots in them. Horrible things. I have never understood how they can consider that a salad, when there are so many other yummy veggies out there to put on them - especially when they're making these " gourmet " salads covered in meat. _____
