Guest guest
I am such a huge basil rosemary and oregano fan. I love them with pasta, potato, homemade pizza, soups, bread, brushetta and tomato dishes. I love Thyme and Margaram added to soups. Coriander is great in middle eastern dishes. It is wonderful in my Roasted Butternut and Carrot Soup that is in the files here. One our favorite recipes here. Love sage in vegetarian dressings/stuffing's,sometimes beans and some patty recipes. When I make up a can of Tomato Soup, I add some ground cinnamon, ground fennel, some dried oregano, and then some chopped up basil leaves in the last minute of heating it up. I then ladle it into a bowl and sprinkle with Parmesan cheese and some Hot and Spicy Cheese-It Crackers. So yummy. We enjoy the Tone's Southwestern Chipotle Seasoning(you can get this at Sam's Club) put into a zip lock bag with a little oil and chunks of raw potato. Then pour this onto a baking sheet and bake at 425 degrees until browned nicely. I grow parsley and cilantro in my pots during the spring and fall, when they won't bolt as easily. I love to just eat fresh parsley. It is a great breath freshener. I add it to potato soups, rice salads, tabular, tomato cucumber salads, tabouli, garnish and other things. I love the cilantro in guacamole, salsas, any Mexican dish. Yummmmm. I grow basil from the last frost spring until the first frost of fall. I usually plant one plant of basil and then seed in the pot around it. I usually end up with about 10-12 plants in one pot and they grow with abundant foliage. I love the lettuce leaf basil and the regular basil for my pots. We love pesto and bruchetta so much. Just wonderful added to pasta and toasted French bread slices. I have year chives and rosemary that grow year around in our climate here. Love that. Those chives are wonderful in mashed potatoes or on fresh baked potatoes. The rosemary on oven roasted potatoes. Sometimes I grow dill. I love that in green beans, cucumber salads, potato and pasta salads. Judy Look for My splashes of joy.
