Guest guest
I found a good recipe, I believe, at cooks. com, but I have slept since then. It makes great shells for a cream pie, but I have never tried a double crust; don't see why it wouldn't work, though. I try, not just to be veg, but I want low fat and low cholerterol, due to 61 being right on my heels. I had much rather be able to eat more and weigh less: Ingredients: 1 apple, peeled and cored 1-1/4 cups all purpose flour 1 Tbs. vodka 1 tsp. baking powder Instructions: Boil apple until soft. Place all ingredients in a food processor and process until it forms a ball. (Or, use the traditional method of pushing apple through a sieve and then mix together with other ingredients.) The dough will be sticky. Refrigerate 2-3 hours. Preheat oven to 425°F. Remove dough from refrigerator, roll out and place in a pie pan. Bake 15 minutes. Put pie filling in shell and bake according to instructions for pie. Yield: 8 servings 1 POINT per serving Nutritional Information: Per serving: calories 81, fat 0.2g, 3% calories from fat, cholesterol 0mg, protein 1.9g, carbohydrates 16.9g, fiber 1.0g, sugar 2.6g, sodium 1mg, Hey you can sip on a nice cool vodka drink, while making this, but not too much. Blessings to all, Jack (Pampa, Texas)
