I take them when they are black and yellow, not solid

green and I wash the peel really good. I slice them

(with peel on ) in 1 1/2-inch rounds and toss into

spicy soups. Let them boil along with the soup. I

also toss in a fire roasted garlic bulb and let it

cook along. The cooked garlic and plantains really

add a unique taste to your soup meal at the end. I

have all my friends doing this now.
