Guest guest
I take them when they are black and yellow, not solid green and I wash the peel really good. I slice them (with peel on ) in 1 1/2-inch rounds and toss into spicy soups. Let them boil along with the soup. I also toss in a fire roasted garlic bulb and let it cook along. The cooked garlic and plantains really add a unique taste to your soup meal at the end. I have all my friends doing this now.
