Guest guest
I grew up in the 50's and veggies came in a can as far as I knew. I don't recall ever tasting a raw vegetable. I love veggies with a passion and will try anything. I even love Brussel Sprouts and Okra..LOL Life is way too much fun. Guest guest
I grew up in the 50s, too, but to make it worse, I grew up in Fairbanks, Alaska. My mom did have a small garden and grew a few carrots and some lettuce, but that was it. I was 15 the first time I left Alaska and found out that peas are not grey mushy things that look and taste like unset concrete. We couldn't even get frozen foods, All fruits and vegetables came in a can. I hated peas with a passion and couldn't believe it when someone told me that those sweet little green things I was scarfing down were raw peas.
